The European standard EN 16931 defines how an electronic invoice must be structured and validated. In Belgium, this standard becomes mandatory from January 1st, 2026 for all businesses. Novadesko natively supports this requirement through its Peppol-UBL integration.

How the Peppol network works

Peppol is a secure international network designed for the automatic exchange of structured e-invoices. Each company communicates through a certified Peppol Access Point, which guarantees interoperability and security.

The process is simple: – You send an invoice from Novadesko → it is converted to UBL compliant with EN 16931 – The Peppol network checks the recipient’s Peppol ID – The invoice is delivered automatically into your customer’s accounting software – No PDFs, no manual encoding, no spam filters, no lost emails
